How DMZ works

Dynamic weather

Rain, sun, fog and snow in Hajin, and what changing weather means for a run.

Quick answers

Does weather change during a DMZ match?
Weather is dynamic. Sources disagree on whether it changes mid-match or per infil.

Hajin has dynamic weather. Rain, sun, fog and snow can all appear, at different strengths.

What we know

  • Activision’s pre-release material listed rain, sun, fog and snow.
  • Press who played at the review event describe a dynamic weather system across Hajin in all three deployment types.
  • Coverage differs on timing: GamingTrend said weather changes per infil, and Windows Central said it can change mid-match.

Why it matters

  • Fog and rain cut visibility. Long sightlines become short ones, which favours close-range builds and sneaking.
  • Night-vision goggles are printable gear and a Story Mission reward, so dark or foggy conditions are planned for.
  • Bad weather also hides you from other squads. A foggy run is a good time to loot higher-threat areas.

How much weather affects AI detection has not been published.
